LOOKING A LITTLE CLOSER
“The Designers’ Menu is my way of paying attention.”
I’m Tyler, a writer, designer, interior architecture graduate, and the human behind The Designers’ Menu!
I’ve always been drawn to the places that make you stop for a moment, a restaurant with a particular kind of light, a hotel that gets the details right, a room you don’t quite want to leave, or a piece of design that changes the way a space feels.
The Designers’ Menu grew from that curiosity.
I wanted to create somewhere to gather the things I find myself talking about, saving, photographing and coming back to; the places worth remembering, the people behind them and the ideas that make them feel different.
This isn’t really about telling you where to eat next.
It’s about looking a little closer.
I’m interested in why a place feels the way it does. The decisions behind it. The materials, the lighting, the objects, the music, the people and the details you might otherwise walk straight past. And, perhaps most importantly, the creative thinking that brings it all together.
I’m based in Manchester, and a lot of what I discover begins here, but The Designers’ Menu is growing beyond one city. It’s becoming an evolving collection of places and people that inspire me, wherever they happen to be.
Everything is chosen slowly, written by hand and approached with a little curiosity.
This is my edit of what’s worth noticing.
Love,
Ty
